When I first read about Puregreen24 in the New York Times, it caught my attention.

There’s actually a photo of a guy from the company spraying it in his mouth in the article! Now that’s pretty non-toxic. (Just to be clear, they do not recommend spraying it into your own mouth. He was just demonstrating how safe he felt it was.)

This isn’t just some kind of lame sanitizer that kills some of the germs, like alcohol wipes.

PureGreen 24 is a disinfectant, registered with the EPA, with the lowest toxicity rating that there is. It is safe enough that it is registered for use on children’s toys at home.

MRSA is serious business. Perhaps you’ve seen the NPR story about how MRSA is a superbug that is causing serious problems in hospitals, prisons, and schools.

PureGreen24 kills Staph and multiple strains of MRSA (CA-MRSA & PVL MRSA) in only 2 minutes, while providing 24hr residual protection against Staph.

PureGreen24 is the perfect solution for disinfecting against this very contagious bacteria, and it does it without toxic chemicals. PureGreen24 is odorless and will not damage surfaces or fabrics.

All other disinfectants on the market contain very toxic chemicals or are not EPA registered to kill MRSA (ie. “botanical” disinfectants). Nothing else that we are aware of provides EPA registered 24 hour residual protection like Pure Green 24.

Why should you care about EPA registration?

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) treats disinfectants as pesticides. This means that it requires all disinfectants to be registered with the US EPA for sale in the United States. In addition, disinfectants must be registered in each state where the product is sold. Pure Green 24 EPA registration number is 72977-3-84364, and is registered in all 50 states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Why is using an EPA Category IV disinfectant, the kind that PureGreen24 has, important?

The EPA does not require warnings for Category IV products, in contrast, Category II Products. Category II products must be labeled with the following warnings: May be fatal if absorbed through skin, May be fatal if inhaled, Causes substantial but temporary eye injury and causes skin irritation. For more information about EPA toxicity ratings visit the EPA web site: Label Review Manual Chapter 7: Precautionary Statements.

What is the difference between a Disinfectant and a Sanitizer?

Most people don’t understand the difference between a disinfectant and a sanitizer. The perception with many people is  that they are equally effective. This is not the case.

Sanitizers only kill a percentage of viruses and bacteria (99.99 percent often advertised, under ideal conditions). A disinfectant, on the other hand, kills 100 percent. Sanitizers are therefore only effective at reducing the number of organisms present on a surface, leaving the remaining organisms to quickly reproduce after the sanitizer’s application.

Even worse, organisms that remain after the application of a sanitizer may become resistant to future sanitizing treatments, which can reduce the effectiveness of a sanitizer after repeated applications. PureGreen24 not only kills 100% of bacteria, it also does not introduce bacterial resistance. This means that Pure Green 24 can have  unlimited long term effectiveness.

Where do you buy this non-toxic MRSA disinfectant that you can use for treatment of any hard surfaces?
